Children’s Sunday Morning Life Groups

Kids learn the basics of faith in God and the Spirit-filled life in a small group classroom setting. All children’s classes may be found in the Education Building:

 

Happy Hearts

Happy Hearts is a topical Bible study for adults that is taught by Pastor Robert Lecce. This class focuses on practical and Biblical development and meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in room 223.

 

High School and Middle School Class

Specifically for students in grades 6-8 and 9-12, these groups are designed to engage and interact with students’ questions and lifestyle. Meets in room F8.

 

Purpose Seekers

To properly prepare for God to move in our lives we must settle fundamental truths in our hearts and apply them to our lives. Meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in room 210.

 

Rhema

This Life Group is a Bible study whose focus is on understanding the believer’s identity in Christ and living an overcoming life out of that identity, meeting on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in Room 206.

 

Pre-service Prayer Life Group

Intercessory Prayer group meets to pray for all the ministries at Evangel. This group        intercedes for the needs of the congregation every Sunday. The group meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the Gallery for Guests.

 

Sunday Night Bible Study

Join those seeking a better understanding of the Word of God at this Sunday night in-depth Bible study, each Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m., in room 206.

 

Loving Hands Quilting

Loving Hands Quilting is a group that loves to create. Our goal is to learn and also minister to our community with our efforts. We do quilting, crotchet, knitting and other crafts that will bless others. For more information call Gloria Stewart (907-0233). Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m., in room 210.

 

Vertical Youth Church

Vertical Youth Church is the action-packed main service geared for middle and high school teens and their friends to hang out, worship, and experience the power of Christ in a practical way. KV Kids

KV Kids is a Sunday night small group for kids ages 3-12. Each month features a different virtue, and kids have fun with activities, crafts and games that teach the monthly theme. Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Kidventure Theatre.

 

Financial Peace University

Financial Peace University is a Biblically-based accountability curriculum that teaches you how to make the right decisions with your money. It will empower you to achieve your financial goals, teaching you to eliminate debt, build wealth, and give like never before. The investment is $100 per family for all materials. There are 2 free preview classes on Tuesdays September 6 and 13 at 6:30 p.m. Financial Peace University will begin Tuesday September 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Video Café.

 

The Prayer Meeting

Each Wednesday evening in the main sanctuary the church body gathers for a time of worship and prayer. This is led by Pastor Teryl Todd.

 

Vertical Small Groups

On Wednesday nights this summer we have small groups specifically designed for middle and high school students.  Join us at 7:00 p.m. in the youth room for fellowship and worship before heading out into groups.

 

Royal Rangers

Royal Rangers is a mentoring ministry for boys from kindergarten through eighth grade. The mission is to evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation. They earn awards, go camping, and have a number of other exciting activities designed to give boys a strong Christian foundation and keep boys in our churches. Royal Rangers is led by Senior Commander John Hurley and takes place in the huts behind the church on Wednesday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

 

MPact Girls’ Clubs

Mpact Girls Clubs is a ministry for winning girls to Jesus Christ through love and acceptance. The Wednesday night club provides an environment of support and accountability while helping girls to develop their gifts and abilities. Coordinator Marlita Peters and the other sponsors help girls build lifelong relationships and encourage girls to be spiritual leaders. Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Video Café classrooms.

 

Fellowship Bible Study

This Bible study takes place two Fridays a month, at 7:00 p.m., in various homes and is open to anyone who enjoys studying the Word with others. Call 536-9537 for more information.

 

Sanctuary Choir and Band

Pastor Becky Forkel leads Evangel’s Sanctuary choir and band. We know that in Scripture the Lord would send the worshippers out in front of the army to create an “atmosphere” for victory. Sound, Lighting, and Graphics

Each week volunteers serve the Lord with their technical skills, enhancing the spirit of worship through graphics, sound, and lighting.

 

T.V. Ministry

The T.V. Ministry is a vital part of Evangel and is led by Jim Bussey. This ministry team is responsible for the taping, editing, and mixing of our Sunday morning worship services, “Proclaiming Victory,” which are broadcast on Cable Channel 21, and the Evangel website.

 

Prison Ministry

Evangel Prison Ministry exists to proclaim God’s liberating gospel to the incarcerated. Services are scheduled on a monthly basis at one of the prisons in and around the Florida Big Bend area. Family Christmas Service

This musical presentation celebrates the birth of our Savior. It features the Evangel Worship Ministry, Kidventure, and Vertical Youth Church. This is the perfect event to invite your friends and family to.

 

Fall Family Picnic

Evangel’s Fall Family Picnic is the fall picnic to reach our neighborhood for Christ. After church on Sunday, October 30, our church family gathers in the field for a time of fun together.

 

Care Network

This ministry is about meeting the needs of families at Evangel Assembly. Care Pastors are assigned 5 families to care for in both good times and bad. We want to become “love with skin on,” so that every person will know that they are loved and cared for. This is the way that we help every person who attends our church know that the pastors and other members care. For information, see Pastors David Lunsford or Terri Todd.

 

Church Office Volunteers

The church office volunteers provide support to the pastors and office staff by helping with various clerical tasks and projects. If you are interested in volunteering in the church office, contact Lucy Cranmer, 385-1815.

 

Connection Center

The Connection Center is designed to keep members connected to important information on current and upcoming events. Volunteers also assist in the ordering and selling of service CDs and lost and found items.

 

Gallery for Guests

The Gallery for Guests is designed for those new to Evangel to meet new friends, enjoy a cup of coffee, get information, and receive a gift thanking them for joining us. Our Gallery hosts enjoy helping others find their place and discover community life at Evangel. Pastor Terri oversees this ministry and would love to help you get involved.  

 

Greeters Ministry

Are you outgoing, always have a friendly smile, willing to give a hand shake and a hug? Then we have a place for you to serve as a greeter on Sunday morning. Ed Neel leads a group that prepares and equips volunteers to minister as Greeters.

 

Outside Greeters

The Outside Greeters are the welcoming face of Evangel. This ministry greets people as they enter the parking lot, making sure everyone feels welcome and knows how to get where they are going.

 

Security Team

The Security Team, composed of emergency personnel from Evangel, provides security for our main services and special events.

 

Serve

Serve is a ministry of Evangel Assembly of God. Serve exists to give individuals the        opportunity to use their gifts and talents through service. One of the greatest ways to show the love of Jesus to our church family and community is by serving others. Video Café Hosts

The Video Café gives individuals an opportunity to view our morning service on a big screen and enjoy a cup of coffee. The Video Café is open to everyone 18 years old and   older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Video Café hosts have responsibility for and oversight of the Video Café. They oversee everything from the audio, offering, to coffee, and making sure individuals in Video Cafe’ are provided for.

 

Ushers

The Usher Ministry serves the congregation at each service and functions as a “right hand” to the Pastor. They provide order, security, and hospitality, as well as monitor    Evangel’s parking area. This ministry is led by Randy Poppell and Bill Cloud.

 

Kidventure

Every Sunday morning in the Kidventure Family Theatre our kids are taught the Bible through comedy, music, and fun! Kids also experience God through praise and worship and prayer. Led by Pastor Renée Lunsford and a wonderful ministry team of actors, singers, and parent volunteers, Kidventure is a high energy service designed just for kids. Each month a different virtue is taught, and the kids in the clubhouse reinforce the important lesson. Kids can participate in ministry as KidDancers, audio-visual volunteers, and greeters at check-in. Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in the Kidventure Theatre.

 

Preschool Beginning Explorers

The Preschool Beginning Explorers Children’s Church is designed especially for            preschoolers and is a safe and fun environment with a creative hands-on experience. Preschoolers learn about God’s love and the world He created. This group is led by Rosie Harkness, Sunday mornings, at 10:30 a.m. in Education Building room 301.

 

Nursery

Evangel’s Nursery is coordinated by Mary McNaughton. The nursery provides tender, loving care to our littlest ones while their parents are involved in church activities. The Nursery allows parents to soak in a sermon or spend time at the altar knowing that their children are in good hands.

 

Vertical Youth

Our middle and high school small groups are designed to lead young people into a better understanding of their faith and answer relevant questions through a Biblical worldview.  Meeting Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Vertical Youth room, ground floor in the education building.

 

Vertical Worship and Arts

Worship and Arts are vital in the life of Vertical Youth. We have lots of opportunities for teens to express their God-given talents through music and drama, as well as fine art.  From special performances to neighborhood outreach we desire to use these gifts to reach others for Christ. Paradigm Women

Paradigm Women is a group for young women who desire to pursue God passionately and embrace everything God has to offer. This group is devoted to see women connected and growing in relationship with each other and God. When: Tuesdays, at 7:00 p.m. Where: room 210.

 

Paradigm Men

Paradigm Men is for guys with a desire to set aside self and walk in personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the revelation of His Word. SERVE: Laundry Love Outreach

Laundry Love outreaches are opportunities to help people by assisting them with their laundry. Relationships are built, opportunities to share the love of Jesus are presented, and we are blessed through serving others. This outreach takes place every other month at a local laundromat in the community.

 

Coffee Ministry

The Coffee Ministry in the Video Café serves by offering a welcoming place where a warm cup of coffee and a connection with one another provide a great environment for talking about the goodness of God. Every Sunday morning, at 9:30 a.m., in the Video Café.

 

College and Young Professionals

Sunday mornings, join us for coffee and a talk about shaping our lives around God.  This class meets together to learn and discuss topics relevant to our christian walk. When: Sundays, at 9:30 a.m. Where: Video Café.

 

Y.C.Y.F Young Couples and Young Families

Y.C.Y.F is for couples in a committed relationship wanting to connect with other couples. This group is dedicated to family friendly activities and events that are specifically targeted for you! Motorcycle Ministry

Bob Wetherington

The Evangel Motorcycle Ministry is lead by Bob Wetherington and meets on various Saturdays for motorcycle rides. The purpose of this ministry is to give Christian motorcycle enthusiasts an opportunity for fellowship, to grow in their faith, and to share the gospel message with the unsaved. E-Women

Evangel’s Women’s Ministry reaches out to nurture and equip women for service through fellowship, prayer, worship, and study of God’s Word. Under the leadership of Kathy Todd, ladies enjoy fellowship and ministry in our quarterly get-togethers, Christmas in November, and annual ladies’ retreat.

 

Fit Faith

This aerobics class, led by Courtney Olson, meets in the Video Café on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. Join other ladies as we exercise together in a fun and relaxed environment. You only have one body—make it healthy and strong. Childcare is available.

 

Helping Hands

Helping hands is an extension of E-Women that provides food to families during specific times in their lives, such as after the birth of a baby, during an illness, funerals, and other times when the women of Evangel have the opportunity to be God’s hands extended.

 

Primetimers

Primetimers is a fellowship group for everyone 50 and older (and their spouses) which meets one Thursday a month for great home-cooked meals and fun. They also hold senior events and travel to Florida’s beautiful attractions. This group is lead by Pastor Robert and Lois Lecce (536-9550)
